The purpose of this book is to offer a personal view of my bullfighting hobby, first as a child, then as a young fan, then as a connoisseur of bullfighting, bullfighters and ranchers, as a writer and biographer of three bullfighters – Luis Miguel Dominguín, Paco Camino, and José Tomás – who cover the history of bullfighting from 1939 to the present day, and finally as manager of the world’s leading bullring.
In a family environment linked to culture, my solid hobby was shaped, which has allowed me to be a happy child fan and to mature into a demanding teenager who was a regular in the stands, into a fan in his early years, to gradually become knowledgeable about cattle breeders and some bullfighters, since the eighties, to exercise the literary vocation through the historical biographical genre of bullfighting and to culminate my professional career with the attractive responsibility of managing the first bullring in the world through active individual and collective management to give it the cultural prestige that the most important bullfighting arena deserves, during five exciting years (2010-2015), in which I made key decisions for its correct development, in which I accredited my status as a fan in the proposal of bulls and bullfighters, and in which I demonstrated my severity in the face of injustices and my great will and vocation to spread with word and pen the core of bullfighting, the personality of bullfighters and ranchers, and the controversial reality of the organization. economic, social and business aspects of bullfighting.
This book contains memories, memories of great happy moments in my personal life and in my career as a fan, and I believe that there are enough arguments to have described the human and bullfighting career of someone who has considered that being a bullfighting fan has been, and continues to be, an edifying way of seeing life, of enjoying it on trips, of discovering friends, and of enjoying unique characters. Therefore, I affirm that many of the best moments of my life have been felt, enjoyed in a bullring, and in a bullfighting environment. So, let them take away from me what I have lived, what I have enjoyed, what I have suffered and what I still have to live!
