The picadors’ costume consists of: jacket, vest, pants, castoreño hat and the armor that protects their legs, also known as irons. The picadores’ costume is completed with the shirt, sash, boot and bowtie.
The jacket is similar to that of bullfighters, it is generally embroidered in gold.
The calzona is the pants that must reach below the knee, in off-white.
The irons, which protect the legs from the bull’s horns. It is a type of metal boot that reaches up to the thigh and is articulated at the knee to facilitate movement.
