This hat is used today to crown the head of all the bullfigthers and banderilleros. Its use is relatively recent and is one of the elements of the bullfighter costumes that has evolved. Until the nineteenth century used the three-cornered hat, but since then the montera has been used, made with a fabric very similar to the hair and with velvet.
